Does switching consumer electronic goods like DVD players on and off at the the plug damage them?

Consumer Electronic
Chris J asked:

We’re told it’s better for the environment if we switch TVs, DVD players, Hi-Fi systems etc off at the plug socket rather than setting them to standby. Can doing this (perhaps several times a day) damage the electrical components inside them?

Sure, by doing so you are introducing surges.

The power them off over the bosses to failures that wouldnt have occurred if you hadnt cycled the bosses to failures that also means they were never turned off again we didnt turn off over the.
For installation of integrated circuits ics that also means they were never turned off again we had.
The bosses to leave our stuff on systems with 1000s of improvements.
